Climate Control
Heating & Air Conditioning
The majority of the basement suite is climate-controlled by a central whole-house system to ensure a comfortable baseline temperature.
The Theater / Kitchenette is the only room with its own dedicated thermostat. You can use the sleek Mysa smart thermostat on the wall to control the two ceiling-mounted electric fan heaters to keep the space cozy. Simply tap the illuminated up or down arrows on the glass face to adjust the temperature!
Smart Lighting
Using the Smart Dimmers
Almost every light switch in the Basecamp is a smart switch or dimmer. While they work just like normal switches, here is a quick tip to get the most out of them:
To Dim the Lights: Press and hold the top of the switch to brighten the room, or press and hold the bottom to dim it. Release the switch when you reach your perfect lighting level!
The Aspen Grove Room
Automated Window Blinds
This room is equipped with smart automated window blinds. You can control them using the light switch on the wall (which has helpful physical labels).
- Left Bottom Button: Shade Up
- Right Bottom Button: Shade Down
How to use: A quick single tap will send the shade all the way up or down. If you want to partially open the shade, press and hold the button. The shade will move while held and stop exactly where you release it.
46" Swivel TV
Enjoy a movie right from bed! This 46" TV is mounted on a swivel arm, so you can easily pull it out and angle it for the perfect viewing experience.
Note: It uses the same Google Chromecast interface as the suite. Don't forget that the volume buttons are on the right edge of the remote!
The Trailhead Room
Smart Switch Controls
At the base of the stairs (which lead to the locked main house), you will find a smart switch with one large top button and four smaller buttons below it. Here is what those smaller buttons control:
- Middle Left Button: Hallway Light (just outside the theater entrance)
- Middle Right Button: Accent Lights (ceiling cans against the North wall)
- Bottom Left Button: Shade Up (for the window in the NW corner)
- Bottom Right Button: Shade Down (for the window in the NW corner)
Note: Just like the bedroom, tap the bottom shade buttons once for full open/close, or press and hold for partial adjustments.
The Guest Suite
Lighting Controls
The lighting in the suite bedroom is separated into two main zones for your comfort:
- Overhead Lights: Controls the four main LED ceiling lights.
- Bedside Sconces: Controls the reading lights mounted above the bed.
Living Room 3-Way Switches
In the attached Suite Living Room, the lighting is wired on a "3-way" circuit featuring both standard and smart switches. You might notice they feel a bit different to use—standard switches will stay in the "up" or "down" position, while the smart switches will always snap back to the center after you press them.
Don't worry—they are fully compatible and control the exact same lights! We have added helpful physical labels to the switch plates to show you exactly what each one controls.
Note: If you want to dim the lights, you must use the smart switch (the one that snaps back). The standard switch will only turn the lights on or off.
Smart TVs & Remotes
The televisions in the suite are equipped with Google 4K Chromecasts, giving you access to all your favorite streaming apps. You will find a small white remote for each TV.
Volume Control Tip: The volume buttons are located on the right side edge of the remote! (It is very easy to miss them if you are looking at the face of the remote).
Bathroom Ventilation
To help us keep the suite fresh and prevent moisture build-up, please remember to turn on the bathroom exhaust fan during and immediately after your showers.
